What if the hardest things you’ve faced turned out to be the biggest doorway to your deepest healing? In this interview, we’re going there— the real, raw transformative power of breath in the face of unknowns, adversity and all the wins between them.
I’m sitting down with someone who’s become not just an inspiration to me, but has become a true friend — someone who embodies resilience, softness, strength, and soul all in tandem. (And is as humble as they come.)
Jondrea Phelps-Hell is a master of HypnoBreathwork®, an author, a speaker, and recently someone who is (and I quote her directly) thriving, after recently being diagnosed with breast cancer.
Instead of shrinking back, she’s expanded. She’s re-written her story — figuratively but also quite literally as you will learn — and shown all of us how to meet hard seasons with grace, with fire, and with deep trust in the body’s innate wisdom.
It’s truly remarkable how someone who has endured so much, can face it all so head-on. Jondrea has navigated the spectrum of human emotions— fear, grief, surrender, and joy—and through it all breathwork has been a foundational tool for true transformation, not just in theory but in the real, messy, beautiful middle of it all.
One of the things I love about this woman is that she does not shy away from the digging deep and talking about anything. Striking a beautiful blend of compassion and hard-earned wisdom with humor, honesty and the occasional profanity drop, speaking with Jondrea is like meeting an old friend; no matter if you’ve just met or known her for decades. She holds that kind of space for everyone she meets, no matter where they are at. (And grants herself the same permission, to show up exactly who she is today.)
We cover the gamut: her recent cancer diagnosis and how she’s coping, divorce, mental health crises, stepping through fear, putting yourself first…and the consistent tool of breath work that has bolstered her through it all. And, how we all have the same tool within us.
This is one of those conversations that I think will ring in your heart for a while — the kind that invites you to pause, listen and lean in closer to your intuition, and remember your own power to heal…so long as we are still enough to find it.
