There are moments when someone that you love makes a bold move in life—one that’s equal parts brave, unexpected, and also, deeply intuitive—you just know it’s going to shift things. That’s exactly how I feel about everything my friend Laura Roos does; she’s a changemaker. And when she launched her company, Mary and Jane, it was no exception. Mary and Jane a line of cannabis therapies designed to support healing, calm the nervous system, and reframe the way we think about plant medicine as a whole.
This likely isn’t the cannabis conversation you’re probably used to. It’s not about zoning out or about just trying to “get high”, actually quite the opposite! It’s also not about the outdated or sometimes misconstrued narrative that’s followed this particular plant for decades. The script is changing, and Laura is at the helm of it.
This is about reimagining cannabis as a tool for connection—to your body, your emotions, your healing. It’s about creating space for folks looking for alternatives to pharmaceuticals or alcohol, either in addition to those things or in place of them entirely, and for those who are simply tired of feeling disconnected from themselves.
And more than anything, it’s about a woman (a wildly smart and successful one, might I add!) carving out her own lane in a world that often underestimates the power of feminine intuition, softness, and science-backed wellness.
In today’s interview, we dive into it:
What led her to starting this brand with her co-founder (even as a non-users themselves before)
How these therapies work and the impact of micro-dosing/knowing your controlled amount
What stigmas or narratives around cannabis can be put to rest
The powerful plant that is combined in their products to create the ‘perfect harmony’
How Cannabis is really changing the wellness space
The hurdles of launching and growing a business in this industry
Why the future of cannabis isn’t going anywhere, and the ways in which it’s growing specifically
…and much more!
I learned SO much in my conversation with Laura, and that is even with knowing her personally and about the brand prior. Her deep knowledge on the topic, warmth in her delivery and genuine, first-hand approach is sure to resonate with you too. What she’s building is truly unlike anything out there and is shifting the future.
Whether you’re curious, skeptical, or somewhere in between—I hope this conversation helps you see this space with fresh eyes.
Okay, friends…Let’s get into it!
Thank you so much for your time, Laura!
